GOOD PERSON

What I do

Factory farming is the biggest cause of animal suffering in the world today.
Globally we rear around 60 billion animals a year, mostly in factory farms.
Cheap meat conceals the real costs to animals, people and planet.
Over-consumption of meat fuels the obesity crisis and increases risks of heart disease and certain cancers.
Waste from factory farms pollutes soil, rivers and seas.
Animal agriculture produces 18 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions from human activity, more than transport.
60 percent of global maize and barley and 90 percent of soya is used for animal feed, while hundreds of millions of people go hungry.
Intensive factory farming leads to rural unemployment and puts small farmers out of business.
Compassion in World Farming is a charity working to end factory farming and to promote a more compassionate and sustainable planet.
I'm the Head of Broadcast at Compassion in World Farming.
I'd really like to hear from anyone who thinks that we could work together on relevant projects.

Have you been involved with film in your work? If so, how and what was your role?

Compassion in World Farming uses the power of film to reveal the often hidden world of cruel factory farming.Film can also give a voice to those who suffer around the world because of industrialised farming methods. And perhaps most importantly, film can be used to show the humane and hopeful ways that farming can benefit animals, people and the planet. We've worked on many film projects, and would like to work on many more.

How would you like to work with film in future?

We would like to hear how we can work with filmmakers to achieve our vision of humane and sustainable agriculture for animals, people and the planet.
