GOOD PERSON

What I do

New project developments, strategic business decisions and overall focus and direction of Running Across Borders is overseen, planned and implemented by myself and Garrett Ash (Co-director). I am specifically responsible for Europe-based fundraising efforts and marketing, the promotion of our Visit and Train Programme to international athletes and arrange races and act as the athlete representative when our international-level athletes compete in Europe.

Have you been involved with film in your work? If so, how and what was your role?

Provided information and access to Ethiopian athletes and coaches at the Running Across Borders Training Camp for a state Belgium National TV station for a documentary they were producing.

How would you like to work with film in future?

If there are ways we can link in with films that relate to social and economic development through sport, youth work, secondary and university education for youth, youth employment, youth entrepreneurship then we are keen to colloborate.

3 things you've worked on that have done real good in the world

Founding of Running Across Borders and providing opportunities for empwering young people in athletics and education.

In 2004 I did a research internship for 4 months with the African Youth Foundation in Nairobi on youth poverty in urban slums and rural areas

For one year (2001-2002) I volunteered as an English, Geography and Physical Education teacher in a remote Kenyan Secondary school in 6 hours North West of Nairobi.
