Director of Digital Initiatives, Independent Television Service.

Have you been involved with film in your work? If so, how and what was your role?

As the Director of Digital Initiatives at the Independent Television Service (ITVS), I oversee the development of new media content as well as other organizational digital activities. I strive to create scalable and replicable cross-media strategies and technological solutions for filmmakers and transmedia artists.

How would you like to work with film in future?

An evolution of what I'm currently doing, but with a focus on working with filmmakers on transmedia projects, where the story is equally distributed across platforms, and also collaborating with filmmakers on new and innovative ways to activate and engage audiences that can demonstrate social impact.

3 things you've worked on that have done real good in the world

1. ITVS-360 Initiative: This initiative has funded social interest media makers creating a spectrum of new media projects including original web video series, mobile applications, digital games and social media campaigns to support their educational and outreach efforts
2. Founder of BUMP Records: A music performance and production program for Bay Area youth ages 14-19.
3. Teacher/After-school Program Manager for various Oakland, CA public schools
