I am currently working freelance at Tipping Point Film Fund where we are raising money from the public to make documentaries that can really change things.
I am a first point of contact for members of the public who are interested in the fund, for film-makers and for other interested organisations. I also look after the website - www.tippingpointfilmfund.com - festivals, campaigns and marketing for this burgeoning organisation.
Tipping Point Film Fund is all about giving people who love film the chance to get involved with it from the very beginning. Getting them involved by raising money for the film and watching it develop before finally watching the finished cut and going on to promote and campaign with the film once it's ready. My job is to get involved with all of that so that people really have the opportunity to help by committing fund films for change.
Cinema has an amazing power of convince. It functions on so many different levels depending on where you're at as an audience member. If you know nothing it tells you a lot. If you already knew about the issue then it moves you on to the wider picture and hopefully re-inspires you to take action. Film can be an incredibly effective way of shaping the way society thinks about an issue - we must use it's full power.
err.. that's too hard. I always try and do good things - but I'm not really best placed to say what the outcome has been...!
