What I do

Help organizations aiming for large-scale social change achieve their objectives, through strategic advisory services. We work with foundations, NGOs, corporations, social entrepreneurs, governments and international institutions like the UN on issues such as poverty alleviation, health, climate change and post-conflict recovery.

Have you been involved with film in your work? If so, how and what was your role?

I made a documentary film on the India-Pakistan conflict, called Leg Before Wicket (www.legbeforewicket.org). The film premiered at IDFA in 2009.

In addition, we help media companies develop strategies for using the power of film to create awareness on important social issues.

How would you like to work with film in future?

Yes. I plan to, and do many of my colleagues.

3 things you've worked on that have done real good in the world

1. My colleagues and I work closely with hundreds of organizations, large and small, achieve their social impact objectives.

2. Several thousand people have seen my film, and I believe that (particularly in India and Pakistan) they have a better understanding of "the other side".

3. I am teaching students at Berkeley how to develop strategic solutions to social issues.
