Vision, Mission & Values

Poor working conditions, low pay for long hours and lack of human rights are a daily reality for garment workers across the globe. Our vision is to see a transformation of the distribution of power in the clothing industry, so that the rights of people at work and in the community are respected. As part of the movement for global justice, Labour Behind the Label supports garment workers' demands through strategic actions aimed at those involved in the production, marketing and consumption of clothing. The organisation has two programmes An education programme working with tutors and students on fashion courses (Fashioning an Ethical Industry); A campaigning element that educates consumers, lobbies companies and governments and encourages international solidarity with workers.

Media Strategy...

We are a small organisation and have not yet developed a media strategy with regard to film. This is something that we should develop as through our campaigning and education project we regularly see the power of film in engaging people with social justice issues and creating a feeling of connection between people across the globe.
