CPJ promotes press freedom worldwide by defending the rights of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal. By publicly revealing abuses against the press and acting on behalf of imprisoned journalists, CPJ effectively warns journalists and news organizations of where attacks are occurring.

CPJ commissions short profile videos to highlight individual cases that illustrate broader press freedom challenges. We regularly collaborate with documentary filmmakers, facilitating interviews or providing background information. CPJ has also co-organized or produced screenings to reach a target audience and engage a target audience through panel discussions.
