Anti-Slavery International, founded in 1839, is the world's oldest international human rights organisation and the only charity in the United Kingdom to work exclusively against slavery, including human trafficking and child slavery. We carry out research to expose slavery; work with local partners to release people from slavery, empowering them to advocate for their rights; lobby for the eradication of slavery; and campaigning against slavery.
We aim to raise awareness that slavery is not a thing of the past, but that it continues to exist today. The purpose of this is to fuel the political agenda and create change that will influence policy and make a difference to the lives of those in slavery. Influencing public attitudes and behaviour is key in order to mobilise support to call for decision-makers to take action to eradicate slavery.
